Turkey 2015
Marick Baxter (May 28, 2015): “Fethiye is one of the most wonderful festivals I’ve ever played at where all many people from many cultures our brought together to share the beauty of what they have to offer. The festival is really about breaking down barriers between people and encouraging peace and understanding. Every time we make many great new friends as well as catch up with old ones.We met and played with so many fantastic musicians and We love Turkey and it’s people.“

May 18: Fethiye Fest Boat Trip… boat jam…
The Traveler Biker Gang!
May 19: “The Sun Will Rise Above You” – New songs are born in the Butterfly Valley
Butterfly Valley: They say you can only get to the cove from a boat but there is a hidden trail, but it’s a bit difficult… trail guide: “Stay focused and concentrated on the path…” … It’s time to hike down the cliffs to the Butterfly Valley… awesome view as the hike begins… The cliffs are quite steep… I’m getting closer to the bottom… I made it to the beach, after that climb swimming in the cool water feels great!
I hiked to the Waterfall in the valley where my song Vessel* was written a year earlier. And strangely enough inspiration hit again. The new song is tentatively titled The Sun Will Rise Above You**. (*Traveler’s Winds of Ksar Ghilane album, **Traveler’s Symphonia album released later in 2015)
From the Waterfall back to the beach, it’s starting to get late… On my way back up 6 hours later – sunset… I made it back to the top! … As the Sun went down, the ocean became and unusual shade of dark blue, it’s really too beautiful to capture in this low resolution picture. So try to use your imagination
The waterfall in Butterfly Valley that inspired 2 songs: Vessel & The Sun Will Rise (Winds of Ksar Ghilane and Symphonia albums)
After climbing to the top from Butterfly Valley to Faralya village I had a chicken shish kabob at a restaurant next to a mosque. the Turkish muazzin call is very beautiful, and the ambiance in the canyon is very nice. Sorry about the chewing sounds. Lol
May 20: Cold Spring, Mozaik Bahçe, Gym, Visitor
I hiked down to the cold water springs. I was swimming where the ocean meets the fresh water, – the water is relatively comfortable until you swim across a fresh water stream, brrrrrr really cold… I found a cool Turkish gym. They sell all kinds of workout supplements including some you wont find in the States. Take a close look at the white medicine cabinet.
At Mozaik Bahçe restaurant: The food was amazing, the best meal I’ve had in Turkey. So tasty… And the best ginger ale ever… The lemonade with mint is perfect too… Thanks so much Nichola.
Nichola Chapman: “Look who came to dinner – safe onward travels Scott, see you next year inşallah “
